Saco Bay Sunset

Regular Meeting Minutes
June 11, 2020

We watched a great video about the Guatemala Literacy Project.  To read more about it go the website at https://www.guatemalaliteracy.org/

Dennis will be cutting 2 checks for the 2 food pantries.

Carol and the Rising Star worked very hard at getting the grant filled out and submitted.  We won’t hear anything until July.

Carol has volunteered to be new 2020-2021 Secretary!

Books in bright yellow bags went out to the nursing home where Carol’s mom lives.  They loved it!!  She has also called other homes to see if they are accepting items.   We set aside a time that we can all go to the warehouse and help put books in the bags.  TBD.

Tina saw on Facebook that the Saco Scoop is selling their current inventory.  She put in her request, not sure it was accepted, she will follow up.  Liz Goetly will be doing a story on it.

Last meeting of Leo’s year is on June 26th at 7:00 at the Saco Scoop.  We will have our meeting outside between the Scoop and the Post Office.  Leo and Tina will be bringing hula hoops.  Bring a friend or family for some fun fellowship.
Our 1.2 million-member organization started with the vision of one man—Paul P. Harris. The Chicago attorney formed one of the world’s first service organizations, the Rotary Club of Chicago, on 23 February 1905 as a place where professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships. Rotary’s name came from the group’s early practice of rotating meetings among the offices of each member.
